Project Swaraksha is an impactful self-defence and empowerment initiative conducted by Rotary Bangalore Midtown to strengthen the safety, confidence, and preparedness of young girls and women. Designed for students from high school onwards as well as adult women, the program blends practical self-defence training with mental conditioning to help participants respond effectively to unsafe or threatening situations.
The core objective of Project Swaraksha is to equip women with essential life skills that enhance both physical and emotional resilience. The training focuses on building basic self-defence techniques, situational awareness, alertness, and strategies for escape. Participants are also guided to cultivate a strong mindset—one that promotes confidence, courage, and the ability to stay calm during emergencies. The program emphasizes that self-defence is not about confrontation, but about awareness, prevention, and escape.
Each session of Project Swaraksha is designed to be interactive, practical, and empowering. Trainers guide participants through understanding real-world threats, learning simple defensive moves, role-playing simulated scenarios, and practicing de-escalation techniques. The sessions encourage women to trust their instincts, stay vigilant, and develop a proactive approach to personal safety. The initiative has been widely appreciated by students, teachers, and institutions for adding immense value to women’s personal development and overall wellbeing.
