Our History

Decades of service, countless lives touched – the remarkable history of Rotary Midtown.

About Rotary Bangalore Midtown

Rotary Bangalore Midtown, established on January 27, 1977, is part of Rotary International District 3191 (Club No. 15770). Over the past five decades, it has grown into one of Karnataka’s most respected Rotary clubs, recognized as the first 100% Paul Harris Club in the state. Guided by Rotary’s global motto of “Service Above Self,” the club has built a strong reputation for fellowship, leadership, and impactful service.

The club operates through two complementary arms—the Rotary Bangalore Midtown Charitable Trust, which drives community service initiatives, and the main club, which oversees governance, administration, and member engagement. This dual structure allows the club to balance strategic planning with effective on-ground implementation, ensuring that every project delivers meaningful and lasting impact.

Rotary Bangalore Midtown’s service spans across diverse areas including literacy, healthcare, environment, women and child welfare, hygiene, skill and local economy development, and even man-animal conflict resolution. Its projects are designed not just to provide immediate relief but also to create sustainable, scalable, and replicable models of social change.

At its core, the club stands for service, integrity, fellowship, and leadership. Its members, drawn from varied professional and business backgrounds, work collectively to improve lives, promote equity, and foster goodwill. With its legacy of nearly 50 years, Rotary Bangalore Midtown continues to be a catalyst for positive transformation in Bengaluru and beyond, while carrying forward Rotary International’s mission of compassion, service, and peace across communities.
