An Internationally acclaimed project, Project Maanasi, located in Mugalur Village has been running since the year 2002, actively helping rural women afflicted with Mental illness to deal with it and recover to anormal life. The scale of the problem can be understood by the fact that one in ten people suffer from mental health problems. Project Maanasi plays a crucial role in providing care, support, and treatment to those in need, helping them recover and reintegrate into normal life. An average of 350-450 patients are treated every month demonstrating the scale of the issue and the pressing need for continued support.
In the year 2021, Project Maanasi was started in HSIS Charitable Dispensary also. Here, around 50-60 patients are treated every month.
Project Maanasi is actively engaged with the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Karnataka. Sincere efforts are being made to extend the reach of Project Maanasi to Government Hospitals in various Taluk and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), with pilot starting at Anekal Taluk.
