Blood donation is a vital act of compassion that saves lives and supports healthcare systems. Despite medical advancements, the need for safe blood remains high, making voluntary donation an important social responsibility. Blood donation camps play a key role in bridging this gap while promoting empathy and community service, especially among youth.
Rotary Bangalore Midtown, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized a Blood Donation Camp at V.E.T First Grade College, J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru, to encourage voluntary blood donation and create awareness about its life-saving importance. The camp saw active participation from students, faculty, Rotarians, and Red Cross representatives. Dr. Raju Chandrashekhar appreciated the efforts to involve young donors, while Hon. Secretary Rtn. Ajeet Kandachar highlighted Rotary’s commitment to humanitarian service.
All volunteers underwent mandatory health screening to ensure safe donation. Of the 116 registrations received, 104 donors were found medically fit and successfully donated blood. The collection of 104 units stands as a meaningful contribution with the potential to save numerous lives, reinforcing the spirit of service and social responsibility.
