Rotary Bangalore Midtown, in collaboration with Manipal Hospital, conducted CPR Training Camps at V.E.T First Grade College and Dharmasagara First Grade College, training four batches of students and reaching a total of 600 participants. With sudden cardiac arrest causing 5–6 lakh deaths annually in India—most occurring outside hospital settings—the importance of immediate bystander response is critical, as timely CPR can significantly improve survival chances.

The training highlighted the vital role of CPR in maintaining blood circulation and oxygen supply until medical help arrives. Despite its proven effectiveness, CPR awareness remains extremely low in India. Addressing this gap, expert medical professionals from Manipal Hospital provided hands-on training, enabling students to identify cardiac arrest, perform effective chest compressions, and respond confidently during emergencies.

This initiative forms part of Rotary Bangalore Midtown’s larger mission to train 1000 individuals in life-saving CPR skills. By equipping young students with practical knowledge and confidence, the programme contributes meaningfully towards building a safer and more prepared community.
