An internationally acclaimed project, Project Maanasi, located in Mugalur Village, has been operational since 2002. It actively supports underprivileged individuals afflicted with mental illness, helping them cope with their condition and recover to a normal life. The scale of the problem is evident from the fact that one in ten people suffers from mental health issues. Project Maanasi plays a crucial role in providing care, support, and treatment to those in need, enabling their recovery and reintegration into society. On average, 350–450 patients are treated every month, demonstrating both the magnitude of the issue and the urgent need for continued support.

In 2021, Project Maanasi was also initiated at the HSIS Charitable Dispensary.

Project Maanasi is actively engaged with the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Karnataka. Concerted efforts are underway to expand the reach of the project to Government Hospitals across various taluks and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), with a pilot programme commencing at Anekal Taluk.
